Global Sources’ (Nasdaq: GSOL) China Sourcing Fair brand of trade shows opened today for the first time in India. Like the highly successful China Sourcing Fairs in Hong Kong, Dubai and China, the Fairs in Mumbai feature manufacturers from Greater China.

There are two China Sourcing Fairs being held concurrently: The China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components, and the China Sourcing Fair: Hardware & Building Materials. The events are scheduled to run through Nov. 16, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, in the Goregaon area of Mumbai.

In India, the events are being managed by Pico Event Management under license from Global Sources. Pico Event Management is a company that has managed professional business-to-business events in India for years.

Global Sources’ Executive Director Sarah Benecke welcomed attendees and delegates during an official opening ceremony. The distinguished Shri M N Chaini, President of Indian Merchants’ Chamber, inaugurated the Fairs during his opening ceremony address.

“We are very excited to host the first annual China Sourcing Fairs here in Mumbai,” said Benecke. “Attracting more than 360 exhibitor booths, the China Sourcing Fairs provide a unique opportunity for India’s importers and volume buyers to meet face-to-face with a large gathering of quality suppliers from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.”

The China Sourcing Fairs in Mumbai serve importers and volume buyers in India and surrounding markets who seek high-quality products from competitive Greater China suppliers. Tens of thousands of buyers from more than 160 countries attend the Fairs in Hong Kong.
