Azerbaijan Labour Fairs

The Ministry of Labour & Population’s Social Protection of Azerbaijan is preparing for holding labour fairs in cities and regions.
Shahbaz Khalafov, deputy chief of the Ministry’s Employment Department, said that the MLPSP has already conducted some labour fairs in Gobustan, Nakhichevan, etc.
“But mass holding of labour fairs is to start since this June. A labour fair in Baku will take place this autumn. But quantity of vacancies to be offered there is unknown at the moment,” the Ministry said.
Last year 55 labour fairs were held in country’s cities and regions. 5,945 out of the 34,966 persons who participated in the fairs were provided with jobs.
The Baku labour fair was arranged last December. It presented 7,000 vacancies. 2,200 citizens were provided with jobs and 3,500 ones held meetings with employers. Thus, 12,000 were employed and employment for another 7,000 was provided through labour agreements.
At the same time the salary offered by companies that participated in the labour fair was AZN 50-60.
