London Art Fairs Canceled

Published March 7th, 2008

Two London art fairs scheduled for 2008 have announced their cancellations, reports Artnet. Pulse London, a branch of the Miami- and New York-based fair, has canceled the planned 2008 edition, saying that no suitable venue could be found. The 2007 fair debuted last year as a satellite to the Frieze Art Fair with 40 international galleries in the Mary Ward House near Regent’s Park. Organizers have not indicated whether a 2009 fair will be planned; later this month, Pulse New York goes up opposite the Armory Show, March 26 to 30.

Photo-London, which was scheduled for May 15-18, 2008, has also been scrapped, after being purchased by Reed Expositions, the giant trade-fair company that also organizes the annual Paris-Photo Show. Organizers say they are restructuring and hope to bring back a more competitive offering in 2009.
