London eBook Show at the London Book Fair, April 14 - 16

Published March 1st, 2008

Attendees at the upcoming London Book Fair can learn about the latest in eBook technology by attending the London eBook Show.

The eBook Show will be presented several times a day at stand S725 (Hall 2) of the London Book Fair. Attendees will learn everything they need to know about building, distributing, and selling ebooks.

Many in the publishing business now realize that true ebooks are not merely screen representations of paper pages, but should also be pieces of software that extend the book. Books are coming alive with film and sound, they can communicate with each other, they can respond to the reader…ebooks are becoming far more than just words on a screen.

Attendees of the eBook Show will see how these “next generation” ebooks are created. Topics will include the following:

Creating eBooks In-house

Outsourcing eBook Production

Protecting Your Intellectual Property Through Bullet-Proof DRM

Using the Power of Video, Audio, & Animation to Sell eBooks

Distributing Your Books Online

The Shareware, “Try Before You Buy” Distribution Model

Using Internal Forms & Surveys to Communicate With Readers

Enhancing the Value of eBooks through Self-Assessment Tests & Quizzes

Allowing Readers to Communicate Through Transportable Notes and Highlights

The show will be hosted by Peter Kent, best-selling author of the Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Internet, Search Engine Optimization for Dummies, and around 50 other technology and business books. Kent is now Sr. VP for US Operations of Sydney based DNAML Pty, Ltd., which has been building electronic-publishing software for almost ten years, and a member of the International Digital Publishing Forum.
