Cologne Fine Art Fair

This year marks the first time that the Cologne Fine Art Fair will take place in the autumn.
In 2006, the art fair replaced three renowned, long-established trade fairs - Westdeutsche Kunstmesse Köln, Kunstköln and the Cologne Antiquarian Book Fair.
The fair showcases a broad range of fine art, antiques and applied art ranging from early cultures to the present day, and this year boasts an impressive list of exhibiting dealers.
It focuses on three specialist fields - fine art and antiques, modern art and rare books and prints.
The 2007 Cologne Fine Art Fair runs from October 31 to November 4, and will be held at the Cologne Trade Fair Centre.
Cologne Fine Art is the only art fair in Europe with a section devoted to Art Brut or ‘Outsider Art’.
This year, six leading international gallerists will be grouped around a special, museum-quality Art Brut exhibition titled ‘Die Kunst der Medien’.
Amongst the six galleries exhibiting are Andrew Edlin (New York), Fischer Kunsthandel and Edition (Berlin) and Jean-Pierre Ritsch-Susanne Zander (Cologne).
The 2007 fair will also feature a special museum show dedicated to applied art, highlighting the expertise of the trade fair in this area.
The exhibition will present a large number of objects made of Meissen porcelain, all of them from the collection of Brigitte Britzke from Bad Pyrmont. All of the pieces on display were manufactured between 1710 and 1775.
