Representatives of 21 educational institutes from New Zealand will gather here to woo Indian students during a two-day education fair that begins Saturday.

The representatives will counsel parents and students aspiring to study in New Zealand during the fair to be held at Hotel Oberoi between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

They will provide information on aspects ranging from courses offered to qualification requirements, opportunities available beyond studies including work, visa formalities, work experience, living costs and accommodation.

Paul Vaughan, New Zealand’s trade commissioner to India, said in a statement: ‘New Zealand as an education destination is seeing tremendous growth. Student applications in January 2006 saw a 79 percent increase.

‘Due to the growing demand, we will now hold these education fairs twice a year instead of annually. These fairs will address the needs of students wanting to enter the July and February intakes.’

All New Zealand universities, government-funded polytechnics, institutes of technology and several private technical education providers will participate in the fair.
