Michigan job fairs ‘fruitful’

Published February 18th, 2006

Over a thousand people attended three Michigan job fairs offering employment opportunities in the Cowboy State.

The Casper Area Economic Development Alliance (CAEDA) teamed up with economic development organizations in Sweetwater and Campbell counties in an effort to address local labor shortages. These and other groups participated in job fairs in Flint, Jackson and Lansing, Mich., between Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.

Michigan was deemed to be fertile ground for recruiting due to layoffs in the automobile industry. Many of the workers affected have direct or transferable skills required by the energy and construction industries, the two fastest growing segments of the Wyoming economy.
